▶️ Why you should start posting YouTube Shorts immediately

Big changes are coming and you need to take advantage.

Estimated reading time: 1 minutes and 55 seconds

Hey there friends! This week we’ll talk about something very interesting that’s happening right now and that’s YouTube shorts.

Previously I mentioned why your business should have a YouTube channel (you can read that here: https://doyousocial.beehiiv.com/p/business-youtube-channel) but now a big change is coming.

Let’s dive in.

I’ve been asked many times by my clients if they should post their vertical content only on a few platforms such as Instagram or TikTok, but rarely are they considering YouTube in this mix.

Why is that? Many people think that a business should not have a YouTube channel unless they have high-quality marketing material that can be used, but that’s wrong.

YouTube is the second biggest website in the world after Google, and it has something that other platforms don’t have (even though they are getting better at it), and that’s the search feature.

Your Shorts title is highly searchable, and you can bring a lot of attention to your content, and best of all, big changes are coming to the platform.

Previously, you could have uploaded Shorts with a 60 seconds length, but YouTube has just announced that starting on the 15th of October, you can upload Shorts of up to 3 minutes!

That’s massive!

Sometimes my clients were ignoring YouTube because their reel was over 60 seconds, and who has time and money to make edits on a video just to upload it on a different platform?

But now that will change, and the ones who take advantage will benefit in the future.

YouTube is the biggest platform for video, and your business should be there as long as you are creating video content on other platforms.

Ask your team to start scheduling your reels/TikToks on YouTube as well moving forward.

Do you have content that did well on Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook Reels in the past?

Upload it to YouTube straight away!

YouTube is a very attractive platform for creators because you can earn a lot of money from the ad revenue.

This means that more creators will understand this and transition into YouTube channels with long and short-form content.

More and more people will spend more time on the platform, and YouTube Shorts has a lot of attention right now.

Don’t make the mistake of missing this attention and be right in front of your audience.

And yes, even small businesses can have YouTube channels.

Good to know:

  • Threads is developing a community feature called ‘Loops.’

  • TikTok partners with WHO to combat medical misinformation.
