🤫 Hey, picture this: what if you can talk with your target audience?

And engage with them in a meaningful way.

Estimated reading time: 2 minutes and 37 seconds

The secret to social media is to actually be social on the social media platforms.

We forget that this is the core value of any social media platform and the easiest way to have success, even if you don’t have tons of followers.

Back in the day, when platforms were new, everyone used to comment, share, like, and engage with the posts in a meaningful way.

But now, things have changed, and our behavior is different when it comes to how we consume content.

However, this is a great opportunity for brands/creators that want to grab the attention of their target audience by putting in the work.

Let’s dive in.

The biggest issue with brands online is that they got used to creating content but not really engaging with their audience.

Sometimes this strategy can work if you have a lot of followers, but even then, you need to engage with your audience, and they will come back to see your next posts.

What if you start searching for posts or hashtags that are relevant to your business and start commenting on those posts with a meaningful comment, not just an emoji?

Do you think the author of the post will appreciate it?

Of course, they will!

You might even get new followers or a customer/client by doing something so simple.

It’s time-consuming, I know, but the value of this is huge, and everything will add up if you do this consistently.

You might even have someone on your team who can spend 30 minutes per day engaging with your target audience on specific platforms.

Which platforms do this best? I got you covered.

Instagram: this platform offers a great way to find your audience and comment on their posts by simply searching particular hashtags that are relevant to your business or products/activities/locations that make sense to you.

X: another great platform for manual engagement. Yes, we don’t call it Twitter anymore, but X will be here to stay, and the platform will evolve with new features.

LinkedIn: this platform is best for building a personal brand. You can do everything here while building your social proof and trust.

TikTok: the same as Instagram, this platform offers almost the same features when it comes to manual engagements.

Threads: this is my favorite one, and so many people are ignoring it! The atmosphere on Threads is amazing, and a lot of people are commenting and supporting each other. Not a lot of people are using it, so this is a huge advantage when it comes to organic reach. Now is the time to really push it on Threads!

Action step:

Allocate a bit of time per day (it can be 20-30 minutes) to engage with your target audience on your desired platform.

If you are not using Threads, I highly encourage you to do so because the opportunity is huge for companies and creators!

Too busy? I’m sure someone from your team can help you.

That’s all for this week. Feel free to reply to this email if you have any questions and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Good to know:

  • Instagram: you can post up to 20 photos and videos in a carousel.

  • ChatGPT: free ChatGPT users—you can now generate two images per day using the DALL-E 3 AI model. It can be excellent for newsletters, blogs, or even social media posts.

  • TikTok: you (finally) have the option to add a custom thumbnail to your videos.
