📧 Why you should change the way you think about emails

Hey there! I’m back with another golden nugget delivered straight to your inbox (stay with me for a little while and it all make sense)

Today I want to explain why emails are not dead and why you should focus your efforts into building your list.

Is everyone ready?

Let’s dive in

Business owners, it’s time to change the way you think about emails forever.

Most people think of emails as just another place where you can send offers or other sales junk without making an effort to actually engage with the audience in a meaningful way.

I see this behavior time and time again in digital marketing, where most of the attention is focused on social platforms and emails are used just to sell stuff.

Allow me to explain why that is the wrong approach.

The main purpose of social media is to get you leads and conversions (actions on your website).

If you understand this basic principle, you will be on top of your competition, dominating the social platforms, and you will be able to get leads and build your email list.

Your email list can be one of your biggest digital assets because it’s private, and you can connect with your audience at a whole new level.

Plus, you won’t be affected by any algorithm changes, reach issues, etc., and you will actually own your audience, which is an incredible thing in today’s digital world.

You can move your email list to any platform without losing anyone, and you can connect with them as often as you like.

And I’m gonna tell you a secret!

People love emails! Especially the ones that are meaningful and actually deliver value - like the one you are reading right now, of course. :)

Spammy emails are worthless, and nobody reads them, but what if you can connect with your audience in a smart way?

Think of community updates, real-life events, blogging about things happening in your area, educating people about a particular topic, etc.

Basically, anything can be used as an email, and you don’t need to use it for sales all the time.

Would you use your social media profiles to write sales posts every day? No, you wouldn’t.

Why would you do it with emails?

It’s time to change that.

The behavior is changing, and more and more people prefer to read a quality email instead of being flooded with a lot of distractions on their social feeds.

I’m getting my news straight into my inbox each day, and I love it!

If you find a way to engage with your audience in a meaningful way, you can build more trust, and it will be more rewarding for you and your business.

Action step:

Find a way to engage with your audience in a meaningful way via email without trying to sell anything.

Educate them about a particular topic or offer free advice about your services/products.

You can also find clever ways to connect with them based on real-life trends (events happening on the weekends, for example).

You can use your email list as a blog and write about things that resonate with your audience.

You know your audience better than anyone.

What do they like to do, or what do they like to watch? Write about that and engage with them in a meaningful way.

This will help you position your brand higher on their “trust scale,” and guess who they will pick for their next purchase of a product or service?

You, of course!

That’s all for this week! Feel free to reply directly to this email if you have any questions about today’s topic, and I will get back to every single one of you.
