Hello friends, thanks for opening another edition of doyousocial.

This past week, we’ve seen some amazing products released by Google and how the future of advertising will look.

We will cover the most important bits because it will 100% affect your business online.

Is everyone ready?

Let’s begin.

Google just announced a ton of updates, and it’s all about AI.

Here is the breakdown:

What’s New from Google I/O (affecting everyone)

Smarter "Gemini" AI: Google's main AI brain, Gemini, is getting even better.

  • Think of Gemini 2.5 Pro & Flash as faster, more clever versions.

  • Gemini Live will let you have more natural voice chats with AI.

  • It'll pop up more in places like the Chrome browser to help you out. They're even planning new powerful "AI Ultra" plans for those who want the most advanced AI.

Google Search Gets an AI Makeover:

  • A new "AI Mode" in Search means instead of just links, you'll get helpful summaries and answers put together by AI.

  • Project Astra was like a sci-fi demo: imagine pointing your phone camera at something, and AI understands what you're seeing and helps you with it in real-time!

  • "Deep Research" will use AI to help you learn about complex topics much more easily, even looking through your own documents (if you allow it) to find info.

AI Creating Images and Videos:

  • Veo 3 is a new tool that can create videos (even with sound and in super high quality!) just from you typing a description.

  • Imagen 4 does the same for pictures, making them look more real than ever.

  • Flow is a new AI tool to help people who make movies or videos speed up their work.

Everyday Apps Get Smarter:

  • Gmail will write even better quick replies for you.

  • Google Meet will get better at translating conversations live.

  • Google Shopping will let you virtually "try on" clothes using your own photos.

  • New Tools for App Makers: Google is also giving people who build apps and websites new AI tools to make their creations even better.

What’s New from Marketing Live (For Ads & Businesses):

  • Ads That Are Actually Helpful: With AI changing Google Search, ads will also aim to be more useful and fit better with the information AI provides.

  • Supercharged Ad Tools (The "Power Pack"):

    • Performance Max (PMax), a popular ad tool, will give businesses more details on how their ads are doing.

    • AI Max for Search will let businesses run ads even without picking keywords – the AI will figure out who to show them to based on the company's website.

    • Demand Gen tools will get better at finding new customers.

  • Shopping with AI Help:

    • Those virtual try-on features will also be part of ads.

    • Imagine an AI shopping assistant that can help you find products, track prices, and maybe even buy things for you – this is coming to ads too!

    • You'll see more AI-organized grids of products in search results.

  • YouTube Ads You Can Shop From:

    • You'll soon be able to buy things directly from YouTube Shorts (short videos) and ads on your TV.

    • A new Creator Partnership Hub will make it easier for brands to team up with YouTube stars.

  • AI Helps Make Ads:

    • A new tool called Asset Studio will use the AI that creates images (Imagen 4) and videos (Veo 3) to help businesses make ads much faster.

  • Smarter Ways to Show Ads: Google is improving how it decides who sees an ad, making sure it reaches the right people.

Digital Marketing Simplified

Instead of manually sending every follow-up or promo email, set up automated email sequences that run in the background.

Here’s how it works:

  • When someone joins your email list (from your website, a freebie, or a purchase), they get added to an automation.

  • You can send them a welcome sequence which is a series of 3 to 5 prewritten emails spread over a few days that introduce your brand, share your story, explain your offer, and build trust.

  • You can also automate cart abandonment remindersbirthday discounts, or upsell offers without extra work from you.

Tools like Mailchimp, ConvertKit, or HubSpot make this easy with drag-and-drop automation builders.

Why it matters: Automations keep your leads warm, increase sales, and save you time because they work 24/7 even when you are busy running the business.

Good to know:

  • Instagram added a new “Shared Access” feature that allows you to invite people you trust to access your Instagram account (no more password sharing)

  • Threads now allows users to add up to five links in bio.

  • TikTok added a new “Shoppable Live” option for TikTok Live Events.
